How Career Ignite handles your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
Information we collect
We collect the information you supply through our enquiry, assessment intake, event registration and resource request forms. This may include your name, email address, mobile number, province, career stage, school or employer, current or considered subjects, career interests, the support you are seeking and, where the client is under 18, parent or guardian contact details and consent.
How we use your information
Your information is used to assess your service requirements, recommend an appropriate career assessment, contact you using your preferred method, administer the career-guidance process, schedule counselling and prepare your Career Action Plan.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for automated decision-making: a Career Ignite consultant reviews every assessment intake personally.
Assessment platform
Career assessments are administered on our assessment partner's platform. Your information is shared with that platform only where it is necessary to register you for the specific assessment selected for you, and only with your knowledge.
Minors
Where the client is under 18, we require parent or guardian contact details and explicit consent before we contact the client or proceed with assessment or counselling services.
Marketing
We send career resources, event announcements and updates only where you have given separate, optional consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any message or contacting us.
Storage, security and retention
Information is stored in secure, access-controlled systems and is available only to authorised Career Ignite personnel. We retain records for as long as necessary to deliver our services and to meet legal and professional obligations, after which they are securely deleted.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing. Contact us at info@careerignite.co.za or on 067 162 2324 and we will respond within a reasonable period.
